Established in 1869, with its collections held at a couple of locations until the current building was constructed in 1914. Contains a great deal of East Boston History, as well as information about the Clipper Ships. Story hours, film programs and book discussion groups.
Preschool story hours and film programs are offered weekly for children. In addition, the East Boston branch has a strong collection of Spanish Language material and literacy materials for children.
East Boston also hosts Summer reading clubs for kids.
