This is a fan-shape parcel of inter-tidal land at the intersection of Border Street and Condor Street, between the Mobil Station and the Shore Plaza apartments. Though it is underwater for significant periods and there is no direct access, this site provides sweeping views of the inner harbor, looking toward the Tobin Bridge and Mystic River. If privately owned, buildings would have been constructed here blocking the view, as has occurred on the adjacent parcels. Inter-tidal habitat is widely regarded as an extremely valuable natural resource. These areas are home to many species of shellfish, other invertebrates, and juvenile fish. They also play important roles in flood control and water quality improvement.

The field is located in the center of the airport traffic and near Route 1A and is enclosed by a chain linked fence. The fence is partially damaged (vandalized). The fields have stadium lights for evening events. There is a sign posted on the fence that reads, "No Playing on Field without Permit". There is a lot of trash and some graffiti on the fencing and near the passive sitting area. The play structure is older (wooden and metal) which is more dangerous for children. Cars drive through the park on the sidewalk to get to the turf soccer field, but there is a sign posted that says cars are not allowed to drive through the park gate.

These two abutting sites are located along Marginal Street in the Jefferies Point neighborhood of East Boston. The Golden Stairs site consists of a concrete stairway traversing a steep grade from Marginal Street to a small sitting area at the top of the slope. The Golden Stairs provides residents with access between Marginal Street and the Jefferies Point neighborhood. The quiet sitting area also provides spectacular views of the harbor and downtown Boston. The Rockies is a grassy hillside just west of the stairs that provides and open, expansive meadow, breaking up the dense residential character of the neighborhood. The Rockies is one of the largest undeveloped spaces in this part of East Boston and provides some of the only remaining upland wildlife habitat in the area. The grassland and adjacent shrubby thicket is particularly attractive to migrating songbirds and butterflies.
