The playground equipment is fairly new, with good property enclosure. The entrances do not have gates to lock the park after hours. The basketball courts are located directly across the street from uncovered salt piles. The grandstands are old concrete stands which are deteriorating.

The field is located in the center of the airport traffic and near Route 1A and is enclosed by a chain linked fence. The fence is partially damaged (vandalized). The fields have stadium lights for evening events. There is a sign posted on the fence that reads, "No Playing on Field without Permit". There is a lot of trash and some graffiti on the fencing and near the passive sitting area. The play structure is older (wooden and metal) which is more dangerous for children. Cars drive through the park on the sidewalk to get to the turf soccer field, but there is a sign posted that says cars are not allowed to drive through the park gate.

LoPresti Park, also known as North Ferry Park, is a four acre park located on the waterfront in the Maverick Square section of East Boston on Sumner and New Streets. The site offers spectacular sweeping views of the Inner Harbor and downtown skline. A long pier and dock connects to the wooden Harborwalk promenade. The park includes a number of active recreation facilities including two basketball courts with lights for evening play, street hockey rink, children's play lot, children's spray fountain, and lawns for informal field games. At dusk, the park is a popular spot for recreational fishing.

The playground is located on a busy street, and the property is not completely enclosed. The pavement areas had some trash and broken glass. There is no rollerblading or skating available.

The chess tables have trees nearby to provide shade for players and spectators. The playground equipment is fairly new. The park is somewhat clean with no vandalism. This park is located in a relatively quiet neighborhood. There is no gate at the entrance that is locked. There are a few lights available for evening use.

Porzio Park is located in a quiet dense neighborhood, on a dead end street with a view of the Boston Harbor. The park is also located near Logan Airport though. The park is well-maintained; there is minimal trash and no vandalism. The play equipment is new with benches in the area for parents. There is proper fencing/guard rails along the waterfront pathways.

This Square serves as a resting/sitting area. It is not safe for young children because it is located within an intersection. The area is enclosed by a fancy cast iron fence with two entrances on either side. There are short walking paths across the square to the different benches. There are no lights for the square at night, only the street lamps.

Sumner Playground lies between Sumner Avenue, Madison Street, Throop Avenue, and Monroe Street. The playground is named for Sumner Avenue, which in turn was named either for Jethro Sumner (ca. 1733-1785), a Revolutionary War general who served under George Washington and commanded the North Carolina forces from 1781 to 1783, or for Charles Sumner (1811-1874), an abolitionist senator from Massachusetts. The street was named in 1887, thirteen years after Charles Sumner died, which, along with his historical prominence, makes him the more likely namesake. Charles Sumner was born in Boston and graduated from Harvard Law School. Before entering the Senate, he practiced law and advocated prison reform and educational improvement. He was elected to the Senate in 1851 and vocally took up the abolitionist cause. His criticism of the practice of owning slaves provoked Congressman Preston Brooks of South Carolina to break into the Senate chamber and beat Sumner with a cane so severely that it took him three years to recover. Following the Civil War, Sumner fought to require that voting rights be guaranteed to African-Americans before Southern states could be readmitted to the Union. Between 1993 and 1995, the park was completely reconstructed with $830,000 from Borough President Howard Golden. This provided new play equipment, a restoration of the comfort station, fencing, benches, a new spray shower, and swings for younger and older children. In 1997, Council Member Victor Robles contributed another $87,000 for an irrigation system in the grass ballfield. The park also offers basketball and handball courts, a kiddie pool, slides, an asphalt play area, a flagpole with yardarm, and London planetrees.
