Day Square

Day Square is the area surrounding the busy intersection of Bennington Street and Chelsea Street. It's a primarily residential district with a dense commercial center. Latin and Italian restaurants and shops frame the street as traffic whizzes by. Airplanes coming in and out of Logan Airport thunder overhead. The neighborhood is kind of sketchy with police cars regularly patrolling the area, but the truth is that this is just a tougher working-class area. Life is more of a struggle, and you won't find boutiques or extravagant spas here. The people are friendly, down-to-earth, and don't like a whole lot of frills. Parking is plentiful, as this is still an area that's off the beaten path. Chelsea Street on a nice day makes for a very pleasant afternoon stroll, especially if you're more interested in genuine local color and want to avoid the tourist traps.
