Suffolk Downs

Come satisfy all your cravings for pari-mutuel wagering (a type of betting where the odds are dynamic and solely dependent on its participants) at Suffok Downs, where you'll find horses being bet on every day of the week, whether the race is live (May - November on M, Tu, W & Sa) or simulcast thoroughbred, dog racing and harness racing (daily year-round). A selection from 50 tracks worldwide appear on simulcast, which may include: Aqueduct, Hollywood Park, Philadelphia Park, Calder, Golden Gate, Australia-A, Mountaineer Park, Woodbine, Sam Houston and more. If you're the type who prefers to do your business from home, you can set something up with TVG account wagering - deposit money at the teller on the second floor, and place a phone or computer bet at your leisure from a remote location through Xpress Bet.
Munch on hot dogs and snacks from the Deli Grill while you and your blocking group bicker over the Kentucky Derby. For big events such as the Triple Crown, Mass Cap, and Breeder's Cup, you'll see upwards to 15,000 people attending at Suffolk Downs. At the Clubhouse on the first floor, you can watch races on multiple TV screens. Suffolk has lottery/keno, in addition to common scratch ticket vending machines scattered about.
On the second floor, you can sit at a station with a personal television to view the simulcasts, or visit the Legends Lounge, a sports bar which has no cover, but requires a minimum charge. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches and grilled entrees for under $11 are the fare for hungry betters. Grab a beer on tap while you're at it.
Open during live racing is The Terrace with tiered stadium seating, an area with tables, and a sweeping view of the entire track. Functions are held in a large room overlooking the Terrace as well as the track. Jobs for Justice does an event there once a year, and anyone can rent out the space.
Once you're hooked, you can treat yourself to V.I.P. treatment at The Turf Club. This is an exclusive cushy club with couches, wood paneling, and leather chairs at the cost of $1000/year. A full menu of appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and a few entrees priced at $16 or less. A full bar of quality liquor will suit fine taste.
Admission $2 for Grandstand viewing, $4 for Clubhouse exclusivity; free for children under 12 and after 7th race when live. A gift shop near the entrance is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 12pm to 5pm, credit cards accepted.
